Next Generation is funded by Power to Change, managed by CSE and run in cooperation with a further six organisations who are all experts in their field.

Power to Change is an independent charitable trust that supports and develops community businesses in England. It  works with community businesses to revive local assets, protect the services people rely on, and address local needs. Its endowment came from the Big Lottery Fund in 2015. 


CSE is a Bristol-based independent national charity (298740) that seeks to change the way people think and act about energy. It does this by managing innovative energy projects, training and supporting others to act, undertaking research and policy analysis and giving energy advice.

The Community Shares Unit supports enterprises through the raising of community shares to save local shops and pubs, finance renewable energy schemes, transform community facilities, support local food growing, fund new football clubs, restore heritage buildings, and above all, build strong and independent communities. 


The network for thousands of co-operative businesses, Co operatives UK works to promote, develop and unite member-owned business worth £36bn to the economy. Our mission is to grow the co-operative economy and together we work to promote, develop and unite co-operatives across all sectors, from major high street retailers to community-owned renewable energy schemes.

Co-operative Futures is a business development consultancy specialising in co-operative, mutual and community led businesses. Founded in 2000 it was set up to provide direct advice and support services and to engage in debates to find mutual solutions for challenges being faced by communities.
